Where Is The Railway Staff College Located?
Since the Railway College is located in the city of Lalbaug, Gujarat, it is evident that Vadodara fits the requirement. Also, after its establishment in Dehradun, this college is claimed to have shifted to Vadodara.
The National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR), formerly known as the "Railway Staff College," is a consolidated training center for the Indian Railway Medical Services, Personnel Service, and Stores Service courses of Medicine, Civil Service, and Engineering. A General Director directed it, and an experienced Rail faculty staffed.
The National Academy of Indian Railways is where Indian Railways officials got their initial training. It is situated on the 55-acre property of the Pratap Vilas Palace in Lalbaug, Vadodara.
It teaches all levels of Indian Railway officials, from parole officers to managers. Originally established in 1930 in Premnagar, Dehradun, the academy was shifted to Vadodara in 1952.
It is housed in the Pratap Vilas Palace, which was built in 1914 and featured vast green grounds. C.F. Stevens designed it in Renaissance attire.
The mansion, surrounded by 55 acres of garden and forest, is always accompanied by the sounds of peacocks and migrating birds. This location was previously acquired from the old Vadodara rulers.

History Of Railway Staff College
The Indian Railway Committee was established in 1920, under the leadership of Sir William Mitchell Acworth, with ten members, such as three Indians: V. S. Srinivasa Sastri (an elected representative of the Viceroy's Legislative Council), Purshottam Das Thakurdas (chosen to represent Indian business interests), and Sir Rajendra Nath Mookerjee.
The committee suggested establishing a Railway Staff College, which was established in Dehradun but quickly closed. Later, the Indian Military Academy (IMA) was established on the same property.
The Railway Staff College was founded in 1952 in the Maharaja Sayaji Rao-constructed Pratap Vilas Palace in Vadodara for his oldest son Fatehsingh Rao. The Palace is embellished with intricate sculptures.
Its construction began on February 15, 1908, the same year that the final monarch of Baroda State, Pratapsingh Rao, was born, and his father, Fatehsingh Rao, passed away.
Charles F. Stevens, son of F.W. Stevens, the British builder who constructed the Victoria Terminus in Mumbai, designed the Palace in the Renaissance style.
It was named after Pratapsingh Rao. The palace complex is on 55 acres (220,000 m2) of well-manicured gardens and forested land, which is invigorated by the calls of ostriches and migratory birds and adorned with intricate carvings of creepers, flowers, leaves, birds, and animals. It is also renowned for its architectural grandeur, which is highlighted by columns and arches.
The Palace, constructed in 1914 and known as Lalbagh Palace or Prince's Palace, was rented by the then-Bombay Government on January 31, 1949, and transferred to the Railways for their use; the Railways later acquired the building for Rs 24,38,271 on January 6, 1964.
